  • Q. What is The Writer’s Handbook online?

    A. This FREE website offers writers dynamic access to the entire directory. It also includes archived articles, a host of useful resources for writers, plus blogs and news to keep you up-to-date with the industry.
  • Q.  How do I register?

    A.  Click here to go to our registration page. You simply need your unique access code, which you will find on the sticker on the front of on your copy of The Writer's Handbook 2009. Registration is quick and gives you free access to our indispensable resources.
  • Q.  What content will I have access to if I register?

    A. The content is FREE after registration and will provide you with an array of resources, advice and contact information. We offer:
  • — The complete, searchable directory containing listings of publishers, agents and much more.
    — The Archive containing articles from previous editions
    — Free writers resources, including advice from editors and authors, a glossary of publishing and top tips for writers.
    — A newsfeed powered by The Bookseller

  • Q.  Do I need to have a copy of the book to access this site?

    A.  To access the blog, events, and general information pages about the book you do not need register or to own a copy of the book. To view the directory, archive, resources and newsfeed you will need to register using your unique access code that comes with your print edition of the book. Access is free until May 2009.
  • Q.  Is access to the directory and resources after registering free?

    A.  Yes, the complete directory, resources, and the archive are free of charge.

    A.  The Writer’s Handbook team DO NOT accept manuscripts. If you wish to submit your work please click on the relevant imprint links below. Macmillan New Writing is the only one that accepts unsolicited manuscripts.
